House newly built with traditional materials is integrated in the countryside. The house is organized through a stone wall that forms an arc which begins in the garden. It’s complete with a slope that resembles the buttress of the stone walls. Inside the wall is cut to make the entrance to main rooms. In the corridor, the wall changes the stone to brick where there are the bedrooms and spaces for children.
Some steps in this area mark the small slope of outside land. The slanted roof levels also include the descent of the land. The porch opens the house into the garden in a linear way, and a volume built on the north side protects this area of the north wind so typical of the region. The pool has a special shape, with an area of beach and a swim lane.
The chosen materials such as stone for the walls of 45 cm thick, the brick and old wood reclaimed for the attic, the railings and gates of the fence they want to bring the house to their rural surroundings.
The client wanted a house on one floor, working with traditional materials, remembering the old stone houses, but with the advantages of the new houses, with large openings for natural light and comfort of new materials.
The work was done on time with the recruitment and coordination of all industries.
The work was completed within a very short time and fully engagement by Irabé. It took everything from the beginning: architecture, procurement, management of the work, the choice of materials, all the paperwork, etc. Even took over the whole set of gardening with the design of the pool and all elements outside the house.
We were spectators of the work and we enjoy it very much.
